Family and friends of Ernie Hill have established the Ernest L. Hill Memorial Fund through the College of Basic Sciences and the LSU Foundation to honor his memory and his legacy at Louisiana State University. Ernie's career at LSU spanned decades, included academics and athletics, and his love for the faculty, staff, and students at the University was known by all who encountered him. A devoted family man, an avid outdoorsman and golfer, Ernie was proud to call Baton Rouge home and, as much as he traveled, was grateful to have family and friends to come home to. The
Ernest L. Hill Memorial Fund will be dedicated to helping the faculty
and students in the College
of Basic Sciences, a mission Ernie proudly undertook since he
joined the college in 1997. With the fund, the Dean of the college
plans to establish both a professorship, the "Ernest L. Hill Memorial
Distinguished Professorship in Basic Sciences, " and a scholarship,
the "Ernest L. Hill Memorial Scholarship in Basic Sciences." Please
feel free to contact Dean Kevin Carman if you have questions. |
