How
to apply
The College of Basic Sciences’ Admissions,
Standards, Honors and Scholarship Committee is
charged with selecting college scholarship recipients
each year. Scholarships are generally awarded
during the Fall semester.
The committee considers all students
enrolled in the college for scholarships. For
this reason, there is no application process.
Along with guidelines established when the scholarship
was established, the committee considers the following
when selecting scholarship recipients:
• major;
• overall grade point average;
• grades each semester;
• year classification;
• semester hours earned overall;
• semester hours earned in major area;
• rank in class;
• rank in major;
• average course loads; and
• the student’s current level scholarship
funding.
The College of Basic Sciences
scholarships are primarily academic scholarships.
During the Spring semester, scholarship
recipients are invited to a recognition breakfast
in their honor. Scholarship donors, deans and
department chairs are also invited to attend.
