Examples of ways the OMR can help

• Provide information and guidance to science faculty in submitting successful undergraduate research components of large research grant proposals.

• Provide support to PI and Program Coordinator during all phases of award implementation. Each grant should employ a coordinator to oversee the idiosyncrasies of that particular award, but the OMR will provide the supporting expertise to navigate the LSU bureaucracy, allowing the coordinators the time to focus on the research and educational components of their programs.

• Provide a centralized contact point for LSU support offices, e.g., Undergraduate Admissions, Registrar, Residential Life, in order to bridge the gap between the science departments and the LSU administration.

• Advise undergraduate science majors with information and support regarding research opportunities.
