| Dr. Mary Lou Applewhite,
a dermatologist in Metairie, and Gregg DeMar, managing
director of communications for IBM, are long time members
of the Basic Sciences Development Council. |
Carlo C. Christina
is an original founding members of the Council. He retired
from the oil exploration business and does considerable
volunteer work for the College of Basic Sciences and
the Department of Geology & Geophysics. |
Dr. Reinosuke
Hara, retired CEO and founder of Seiko Instruments,
is a long-time council member. He did his postdoctoral
research in chemistry at LSU in 1953 under the late
Boyd Professor Emeritus Phil West. |
