Our friends, alumni and other supporters are our lifeblood. We are grateful for the generous gifts that we continue to receive in support of the work of the College of Basic Sciences.

The College offers many opportunities for alumni and friends, individuals or private organizations, to support the teaching and research efforts underway and planned for the future. Scholarships, professorships, chairs, research travel supplements, laboratory and equipment funds, and the Geology Field Camp are just a few examples.

Gifts of cash (by check, money order, wire transfer, and credit card), securities, art works, insurance policies, equipment or durable goods, and other gifts-in-kind are accepted and put to use as soon as possible. The LSU Foundation is eager and willing to help with planned giving arrangements: charitable remainder trusts, estate planning and other bequests that will help students and faculty in their academic careers. Gifts may be restricted for specific purposes, or unrestricted to allow the Dean to best put resources where they are necessary.
